Taster session in wheel throwing

Wheel throwing taster. 2 hours

The Taster session is designed to provide an initial hands-on experience of making wheel thrown ceramics. Participants will receive a thorough introduction to the fundamentals of wheel throwing through clear and concise demonstration of the process. Further technical guidance is given to help overcome any challenging aspects experienced. 

You will be guided in the core skills of the craft including centring the clay, opening up, lifting the walls and how to adap the form, creating one or more finished works during the session. The choice of glaze can then be made while covering the stages of firing ceramic wares. 

The final pieces will be glazed. In total this can take around 3-4 weeks for the two firings etc. Once ready you will be contacted for collection.

Group sizes are limited to 3 participants in total to provide plenty of one-to-one attention.

The taster session is £70 per person, inclusive of all materials and two firings.
